Riverview Neighborhood Association
February 5, 2007 Board Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order by President, Vicki Hibbert. Minutes from the January board meeting were not available.
Open Issues: The McBirney Mansion developers are scheduled to speak at the February 13th neighborhood meeting. There will be a 20 minute presentation and 10 minute question/answer period. There will also be a public forum meeting and open house at McBirney Mansion on February 8th, with meetings at 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Information on the meetings is posted on the Riverview website.
Anne Pollard informed the Board she has been hired as a consultant for WSL Properties, LLC, the developer of the McBirney project.
Anne suggested contacting Theron Warlick regarding reviewing the Neighborhood Master Plan and giving suggestions on the plan.
Vicki suggested appointing a chairperson for each neighborhood project to be funded by Vision 2025. Anne Pollard will chair the Carson Arch project. Ron Miller will chair the neighborhood gateways project.
Gary Kuck will chair the Stickball Park project. He stated the park is ready for tree planning but no funds are available yet. The status of the neighborhood association’s tax exempt status needs to be determined. Funds could be donated to the neighborhood association, which can then donate funds for the trees.
Vicki reported on the progress of the neighborhood historic designation project. The neighborhood will be split into four districts for purposes of the historic designation. The districts are Carlton Place, Stonebreaker Heights, Riverside & Buena Vista Park. A presentation regarding the project is being planned for the March neighborhood meeting.
The City will pay for most of the costs of the project but neighborhood fund raising is also needed to complete funding of the project.
New Business: Tracy & Robert Shears spoke in support of Tulsa School Board Candidate, Gary Percefull. They gave information on his candidacy and discussed ways to encouraged residents to vote.
Discussion regarding the neighborhood non-profit status was tabled until the next board meeting.
The neighborhood meeting on February 13th will begin at 7:30 rather than 7:00 due to the school board election being held at the Greek church.
