Riverview Neighborhood Association
January 9, 2007 Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order by President, Vicki Hibbert, at 7:00 p.m. Minutes from the December meeting were approved.
The McBirney Mansion developers are scheduled to speak at the February meeting and public forum meetings will be held regarding the project. The dates will be posted on the Riverview website.
Attendees of the meeting were encouraged to update their addresses and phone numbers on the website.
Vision 2025 funds have been approved for the following projects: 1) Restoration of the Carson Avenue arch; 2) Placement of neighborhood entrances at 14th & Galveston & Riverside and at 14th & Boulder Avenue; 3) Beautification of Stickball Park.
Ongoing attempts are being made to obtain a historic designation for the neighborhood. A letter is expected from the State Historical Society and a public hearing will be held by the Tulsa Preservation Commission on the matter at some point in the near future.
Various programs are scheduled for each monthly meeting throughout the year. Suggestions for programs were welcomed from neighborhood residents.
Gary Percefull announced he is running for re-election to the Tulsa Public Schools Board. The election will be held on February 13th and the neighborhood meeting will start at 7:30 instead of 7:00 on that date due to the election. Students residing in the Riverview neighborhood will attend Edison High School beginning in the Fall 2007 rather than Central High School.
The Treasurer was unable to attend the meeting but it was reported the funds on hand at the time of the December 2006 meeting were $974.43.
There was a brief discussion of the status of various proposed river projects. There is information regarding several proposed plans pending in the current issue of Tulsa People.
Lucky Lamons reported that any state legislation bills that may affect the neighborhood will be filed by January 18th.
