RVNA Board Minutes

The meeting was called to order by Vicki Hibbert at 7:05pm. Attending were Vicki Hibbert, Anne Pollard, Anita Bryant, Kathy Cooper, Lana Taylor, Barbara Maxwell and guest Doretta Kerns.

Vicki explained the required change to our by-laws that is required before we can achieve 501(c)3 status. Specifically, where our funds are to go if RVNA disolves. The Board recommended the Parks Department with funds to be earmarked for Stick Ball Park.

Announcements included

1) The sidewalk at 15th and Boulder (and that the retaining wall will not be replaced)
2)  Stick Ball Park now has a sign!
3)  Ideas were shared about the benefits of having a Gardening Consultant and using neighborhood beautification as a good reason for fund raising

Letters are to be written from the Board to Tulsa Tough suggesting a donation to RVNA as well as sending recommendations on how to improve the race next year. The Board will also send a letter recommending the zoning variance for the Perryman house on Elwood.

The Board agreed that the annual Block Party should be a fund raising event to be held at the McBirney Mansion on either September 15th or 22nd. It will be a Great Gatsby theme with a $15 individual/ $25 couple donation and cash bar. A party for children will be held earlier in the day and a baby-sitter service will be provided in the evening.

The Party needs volunteer planners to find food donations, send invitations and receive RSVP's.

Anita Bryant has arranged with the Housing Authority for a presentation at the June general meeting about Section 8 qualifications for individuals and properties.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:00pm.
