RIVER VIEW NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION
NOVEMBER 13, 2007 MEETING MINUTES
Meeting was called to order by Ray Luth at 7:00pm due to the maternity absence
of Vicki Hibbert. Ray reported our current bank balance is $1105.43.
Old Business: Ray reported that
501(c)3 is still pending. Nominating committee presented the slate of proposed
officers and 4 board members. They are Ron Miller, President; Kathy Cooper, Vice
President; Ray Luth, Treasurer; Barbara Maxwell, Secretary. Board nominations
for two year terms are Gary Kuck, Mike Tomlinson, James Bengfort, and Jerry
Mitchell. Continuing on the board until Dec 2008 elections are Debi Sanditen,
Anita Bryant, Anne Pollard, and Lana Taylor.
Several current officers and board
members encouraged anyone and everyone in the group to get involved, join the
board, or take on a special project.
Comments were made by Jerry Mitchell
regarding the City Council meetings on neighborhood street maintenance
procedures.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:22pm and
Ray introduced Patty Southmayd from PreserveMidtown.com. She explained that the
objective of the group is to give physical neighbors a voice in how neighborhood
property is developed. They are promoting "smart growth." They are proposing
that each neighborhood form a Conservation District.
Specifically, health and
environmental issues related to tear-down, removal of old trees, stormwater
runoff and pressure of more use of existing utility lines. Sherrie Cook from the
Mapleridge Association reported that Tulsa is now on the endanged list with the
Historic Preservation Society.
The meeting concluded at 8:15pm.
