RIVER VIEW NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

OCTOBER 1, 2007 BOARD MEETING MINUTES

The meeting was called to order by President, Vicki Hibbert, at 7:00 p.m.  Present were Vicki Hibbert, Gary Kuck, Debi Sanditen, Lana Taylor and Kathy Cooper.  Minutes from the September board meeting and Treasurer’s report were not available.

The neighborhood block party was held on Saturday, September 15th, at McBirney Mansion.  It was a successful event and after expenses approximately $75 was raised from food concessions.  Chris Middlebrook volunteered to perform as a clown and was very entertaining.  A tour of McBirney Mansion was also given.  Ways to improve the block party as well as possible locations for next year’s event were discussed.

Ray Luth is still working on the RVNA non-profit status.

Improvements for Stickball Park and Council Oak Park are in the bidding process and the work should begin soon.  Neighborhood improvements thru Vision 2025 funding have not begun yet either.

The committee for nominating the president for the upcoming year has been formed and Anne Pollard is the chairperson.

Vicki also received an update on the Vision 2025 funds.  She talked to Glen Sams 596-9578.  Glen said that they hope to have all the purchase orders completed for phase 2 projects by the end of the year. We are project # 19 in Phase 3 and we should hear from them by Feb or March.  If we don’t we should contact them.

The historic designation status for the neighborhood has been granted and plans were made for a celebration at the October 9th general meeting.  Historic designation plaques for homes in the neighborhood were discussed also.

Ray Luth will preside over the November board and general meetings during Vicki Hibbert’s maternity leave.  Election of officers will be held at the November meeting.  Vicki suggested contacting the Preservation of Mid-Town Tulsa organization to arrange a speaker at the November general meeting.  Possible locations for the holiday party in December were discussed also.

There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned.
