April 8, 2008 MEETING MINUTES

 

 

BOARD MEETING:

Attendees are Ron Miller, Gary Kuck, Anita Bryant, Jerry Mitchell, Barbara Maxwell, Anne Pollard, Debi Sanditen, Mike Thomplinson

 

Board meeting called to order by Barbara Maxwell. Ron Miller took over upon his arrival.

Clean-up Saturdays announced: Dumpsters were discussed. Barbara will print up handouts and send email to members. Anita rounded up volunteers to go door to door with announcements. We will need rakes and garbage bags.

We discussed getting help for the lady living at 1629 S. Elwood from Rebuild Tulsa or Neighbor for Neighbor.

Anne told us about an open meeting at City Hall on April 23rd at 2pm in Rm 1101 about the Abundant Life building on Boulder. Tulsa Industrial Authority will attend.

Mike researched fund raising ideas and he and Gary suggested we get a BIG banner to fly at special events!!!

GENERAL MEETING:

Called to order at 7pm by President Ron Miller. Minutes approved and treasurer's report not available.

Ron announced that Eric Gomez won the District 4 election and will be invited to our next meeting.

Vision 2025 had a meeting about phase III but they forgot to invite RVNA. Ron will be sure that is corrected.

Anita talked about the Clean Up Saturday and Designer Showcase from April 25 to May 19.

The house that was to be leveled on 14th was -- we are delighted!!

GUEST SPEAKER:

Gary Schellhorn, City of Tulsa Public Works, Special Project Design Coordinator reported on Stickball Park and projected completion by mid to late June. We would like to plan an appreciation party for the workers and a grand opening.

Irrigation is in, some landscaping, sidewalks will be replaced, new handicapped access ramps, a wrought iron fence to match the Council Oak, and gates on the west and north sides (4' wide gates for easy access).

We asked about a bench, a container for tour brochures, and plaque with stickball rules for playing. Also asked for pet poop pickup bag dispenser. We were told to get with Max Weems at the Parks Department.

Vicki Hubert will get the info on plaques for us to add to our website.

Kevin Stephenson is the California investor in the condos along Cheyenne that will be constructed by Metro Lofts.
